Ask an Expert—“How do Family Mealtimes and Other Daily Routines Enhance a Child’s Well-Being?”

Barbara H. Fiese, professor and director of the Family Resiliency Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, responded to questions submitted during May about the role that routines can play in promoting health and well-being in young children. Dr. Fiese is a clinical and developmental psychologist who is recognized as a pioneer in the study of family routines and rituals.

The Illinois Projects in Practice Web site provides support, resources, and information for teachers, specialists, administrators, and trainers interested in implementing the Project Approach in preschool classrooms. In addition to examples of projects, research, and other resources, the site includes a blog by Lilian Katz and a section for center directors.
