Ask an Expert — Helping Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in Early Care and Education Settings
- Barbara T. Doyle, nationally known author, master teacher, trainer, consultant, and adjunct faculty member of Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, will be responding to questions through November 21 concerning the “why” behind the behavior of young children with autism spectrum disorders, how caregivers can work successfully with families, and how they can prioritize the skills that need to be taught.

New Science Video Clips
Two new video clips that address Illinois Early Learning Science Benchmarks have been added recently to the IEL Web site. The Getting to Know Rabbits clip illustrates how interacting with living creatures can provide important lessons for young children. In the Flubber clip, young children experiment with properties of matter. These clips also address a number of Language Arts, Social Science, Social/Emotional Development, and Physical Development Early Learning Benchmarks.- Getting to Know Rabbits
