A Special Issue highlighting the Project Approach and Early Learning Benchmark Videos!

A new section on the “Project Approach” has been added to the IEL Web site!

Check out “Resources on Early Learning/The Project Approach” at http://illinoispip.org. It’s also linked from the “Other Resources” page and the right-hand “quick links” sidebar. Contents of this section include:
  • A description of the Project Approach and how it helps children meet the Benchmarks in the Illinois Early Learning Standards.
  • Illinois Project Approach events throughout the state.
  • Resources about the Project Approach, including IEL Chats and “Ask an Expert” events, IEL Tip Sheets on the Project Approach, and links to examples of projects.

Early Learning Benchmark Videos

Take a look at how one teacher in Illinois helps preschoolers meet the Benchmarks by using the Project Approach as part of the curriculum. Each video clip is accompanied by background information, a transcript, and a description of how various Benchmarks are met. Please go to http://illinoisearlylearning.org/videos/index.htm
