Associate Professor of Human Development and Director of the Child Development Laboratory, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Brent A. McBride earned his Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD. He is currently an Associate Professor of Human Development and the Director of the Child Development Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr. McBride is a former preschool and first grade teacher, and he has extensive experience in developing programs to encourage father involvement in early childhood programs. He is an active researcher in the area of father involvement in home and school settings and is a consultant with the Illinois State Board of Education on father/male involvement in early childhood programs.
