Guest Biography
Jim Moberly has worked for the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education Attendance Assistance Program as a truancy caseworker for 25 years and with local school districts within Iroquois and Kankakee counties serving at-risk youth. Fifteen years ago, he became the Case Management Coordinator, supervising 500 plus at-risk students. In 1998, in addition to his other responsibilities, he became the Iroquois-Kankakee Regional Office of Education Homeless Liaison responsible for identifying and enrolling children who are homeless in school, along with educating the local schools, community, and service organizations on the rights of children who are homeless. In 2005, Jim became the Area IV Lead Liaison Homeless Coordinator, overseeing six Regional Offices of Education representing 106 school districts in East Central Illinois.
Jim received his B.S. in Education in 1975 from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Jim is a member of the Illinois Coalition of Educating At-Risk Youth, National Community Education Association, Kankakee County Continuum of Care, as well as the Central Illinois Continuum of Care.
